The most powerful aspect of the Ole Miss First program is its unique grass-roots mentoring component. This innovative program allows donors (or persons designated by donors) to mentor Ole Miss First scholars. Through this facet of Ole Miss First, each scholar enjoys a meaningful relationship with an involved adult. This means someone is there to encourage each scholar to take chances, to explore opportunities, and to make a difference, both at Ole Miss and in the world.

Mentors are asked to shepherd the scholars in leadership, life and career skills. Together they direct and nurture our scholars as they fulfill their commitment to participate in a leadership role on campus and as a volunteer in the community.
